Privacy policy

How this website handles personal information. Last updated 16 September 2026.

This policy explains how Nova Nutrition Counselling (Jennifer Ying, Registered Dietitian) handles personal information collected through this website. It is written to reflect British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). This policy covers the website only; personal and health information shared during a consultation is handled separately and confidentially (see "Your health information" below).

Information this website collects

This website has no contact forms, no accounts, and no advertising or analytics tracking. Information is only collected in a few limited ways:

  • When you email or call. If you contact me using the email address on the site, I receive your message and any information you choose to include in it.
  • Technical logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare automatically processes limited technical data (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
  • Third-party embeds. Some pages load content from other companies, which may receive your IP address or set cookies under their own privacy policies. These are: Google Fonts and, on the Contact page, a Google Maps embed (both operated by Google), and the online booking tool once it is added.

How the information is used

Information you send is used only to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to provide nutrition counselling services. Technical log data is used to operate and secure the website. Your information is not sold, rented, or used for advertising.

Cookies

This website does not set its own cookies. The third-party services listed above (Google, and the booking tool) may set their own cookies or collect data when their content loads. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

Sharing your information

Personal information is not disclosed to anyone except the service providers needed to run the practice (for example, website hosting and, once added, the online booking provider), and only as needed for those purposes, or where required by law.

Your health information

Any personal or health information you share during a consultation is confidential and is handled in accordance with applicable privacy law and the standards of the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC). It is kept separate from this website.

Your rights

Under BC's Personal Information Protection Act you may ask to see the personal information held about you, ask to correct it, or withdraw your consent. To make a request, email be@inspirithealth.ca.

Retention and security

Personal information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was provided or as required by law, and reasonable safeguards are used to protect it.

Children

This website and these services are intended for adults and are not directed at children.

External links

This site links to other websites (such as the booking tool and the CHCPBC register). Those sites have their own privacy policies, which govern how they handle your information.
