Healthy aging

Registered dietitian in downtown Vancouver, focused on healthy aging

Nutrition to support energy, strength, and overall wellbeing as you age, built around your health and your routine, and coordinated with your care team.

The way we eat over the years quietly shapes how we feel as we age, our energy, our strength, and our ability to keep doing the things we love. Healthy-aging nutrition is about making that work in your favour, with changes small enough to keep and consistent enough to matter.

What we work on

  • Energy & everyday nutrition: eating well enough, and regularly enough, to feel steady through the day.
  • Protein & strength: getting enough protein to support muscle as you age.
  • Bone health: nutrients that support bone health, as part of your overall care.
  • Appetite & digestion changes: adjusting as needs and tastes shift over time.

A grounded, whole-person approach

I've worked alongside physicians and their patients throughout my clinical career. Your plan reflects that collaborative approach, coordinated with your medical team and your health markers rather than chasing trends or promises.

How I work

I look at your history, current health, and daily life, then focus on the handful of changes that make the most difference for the least friction. The aim isn't a perfect diet; it's a sustainable one that supports how you want to feel.

This page is general education, not medical advice. Nutrition support complements the care and monitoring provided by your physician.

Healthy aging FAQ

What is healthy-aging nutrition?

Healthy-aging nutrition uses everyday eating to support the things that help you feel and function well over time: energy, muscle and strength, bone health, and getting enough protein and key nutrients. It's about sustainable habits built around your health and routine, coordinated with your physician.

How can a dietitian support healthy aging?

A dietitian helps you make sense of the changing nutrition needs that come with age (protein for muscle, nutrients for bone health, appetite and digestion changes) and turns them into a practical plan you can keep. Nutrition support complements, and doesn't replace, your medical care.

Is it ever too early or too late to start?

Neither. Helpful habits are worth building at any age, and it's never too late to make changes that support how you feel day to day. The best plan is the one you can sustain, and I build it around where you are now.
