Area of focus

Registered dietitian in downtown Vancouver, focused on gut health

As a registered dietitian focused on gut health, I help you use nutrition to ease digestive symptoms and build a gut-friendly way of eating, so your gut takes up less space in your day. It's one of the areas I focus on.

Digestion touches a lot, comfort, appetite, energy, and how you feel overall. When your gut isn't happy, the rest of the day is harder. I have a particular interest in the gut and the microbiome, and translating that fast-moving area of nutrition science into practical, sustainable changes.

What we work on

  • Everyday digestive concerns: bloating, gas, reflux, irregularity, discomfort, and IBS-type symptoms.
  • The microbiome: building diversity and fibre tolerance so your gut is fed well, not just restricted.
  • Symptom patterns & triggers: figuring out what tends to set off symptoms, and testing changes methodically.
  • Food reintroduction: moving away from unnecessarily restrictive eating and rebuilding variety with confidence.

Feeling good day to day

Digestion is connected to everyday things like comfort, appetite, and energy, and the link between the gut and the brain is an active area of research. The work here stays focused on your digestion and general wellbeing. It isn't a treatment for any medical or mental-health condition, and I'm glad to coordinate with your physician or other members of your care team.

How I work

Every plan starts with your history, your symptoms, and what you actually eat and enjoy, never a template. Where it helps, I use structured, evidence-based approaches and reintroduce foods systematically, aiming for more freedom in your eating, not less.

This page is general education, not medical advice. Your plan is personalized during a consultation, and nutrition support complements rather than replaces care from your physician.

Gut health FAQ

How can a dietitian help with gut health?

A dietitian focused on gut health helps you use food and eating patterns to ease digestive symptoms and support a healthier gut. That can mean identifying what tends to trigger bloating, IBS, or irregularity, rebuilding tolerance and variety, and finding a way of eating that works for your gut and your life, tailored to your history rather than a generic diet.

Do you help with IBS, bloating, and food intolerances?

Yes. I work with IBS, bloating, gas, reflux, irregularity, and suspected food intolerances using structured, evidence-based approaches, reintroducing foods and variety wherever possible rather than leaving you on a needlessly restrictive diet.

Does gut health affect the rest of how I feel?

Digestion is connected to everyday things like comfort, appetite, and energy, and the link between the gut and the brain is an active area of research. Nutrition support here focuses on your digestion and general wellbeing. It isn't a treatment for any medical or mental-health condition, and I coordinate with your healthcare team where relevant.
